I have noticed that while playing zone defense many of my players are described in the pbp as being way out of position for the type of defense called. For example, it is not at all unusual to see the Center defending a three-point attempt from anywhere on the court. It occurs far too often to be part of a normal scramble where good passing pulls people out of position, or is it? Does position play improve as defensive skills improve on an individual basis? Or is this just a case of the limitations of a game engine in reproducing realistic results at the play by play level?
