So I have thought of a way that is similar to the 2nd team discussion but I prefer this. Whether it would be a supporter feature or not is not up to me.

Most people know what college basketball is- its a way for young players to show their skills to get to the NBA.

Why not include this in BB?

So- heres how it would possibly work.
You name your so called college
you go to a "recruiting" page- this has lets say 50 high schoolers and their interest towards you.
You get a certain amount of recruiting points (lets say 500)
You spend 5 to scout (Skill and Potential- Like draft)
10 to contact (Raises interest)
25 to watch a game (get stats- Actually meaningful stats I.E. player 1 goes 2-7 and has 14 rebs has bad jump shot and good rebounding)
30 to offer scholarship
50 for a team visit (raises interest greatly)
Any more ideas are welcome here as well.

You then get your players in the season. They are all "freshman" without age.
You get put in a so called conference
You play BB how your normally would- but its like a U-21 team, after they are a senior, they enter a random leagues draft (you have no clue which league)
and the process starts over again.
Same BB, but almost like a fun college feel... Wouldnt be a full on 2nd team but would be a cool thing and get a lot more members.

After the season is over the madness would begin!
There would be a 64 or 128 team playoff from your whole division (I.E. In Division 4 the top 128 teams would compete) just like march madness. Upsets upsets and more upsets. Would be fun to watch other games be played too. I always love march madness.

Also when the player is drafted- It says what "College" he went to so his old coach can watch him play

Thoughts?
Thanks,
Bobbanana

EDIT: Also- Depending on your season- you get more recruitment points and have the opportunity to get better players.
There would be a minimal number of recruit points. Also- teams wouldnt be amazing because hey- most these players wont develop to be amazing. I just think this would be fun.

Edit 2: The players would get nerfed to be fair when they enter the draft- so they wouldnt be studs. Like a strong jump shot would turn into a inept or mediocre shot. Real league is harder than college, kids...
There wont be any player with higher than proficient with skills (not all proficient of course)

So I've discovered an issue-
It would be very hard for BB to put all "seniors" into the draft with their skills. I don't think it would be as hard just to put their name in, not skills. Instead of generating names- the names would already be generated. I don't see a huge issue with the players not having the same type of skills because in real life- lots turn out to be not what people thought they would be lol

Honestly, no offense, but I don't think it would be all that fun. Because what is the point of training a player when he is young, if he is just gonna lose those skills? And I wish there would be a way for a team to keep its college players.

I dont think he should lose all of his skills- I think they should go down a reasonable amount. Maybe you can choose to use your 1st rd pick to automatically get that player? Like- You wouldnt know potential- only skills- and you would know they would go down a reasonable amount. Thoughts?

Also- Dont forget training wouldnt be super fast because these kids have classes ;)

And, I think it would be really fun to compete in a tourny division and you have a division rank.. Do you?

Maybe I really love this idea because I love college basketball- especially march madness and I feel like implementing a "March Madness" would be so cool and fun because no team would have a huge advantage over another.

I'm against this entire idea for a few reasons.

1. This sounds better than how they are doing the 2nd team for supporters... and since the supporters are paying money (which helps keep the site up and running functionally) they should have the better option.

2. If you're doing things right 1 team is plenty already.

3. This implies to me that Buzzer Beater is "the NBA" players go from college, to get to here... Last time I checked, there aren't divisions etc in the NBA. I always thought of buzzerbeater as more for the basketball players good enough to play professionally, but not good enough really to play NBA.

IE: Chris Singletary, Hamin Quintance, John Edwards (after he left NBA for lack of talent), Eric Haut, etc. Josh Childress (another NBA career gone fail), you know... the guys whom play in europe and asia etc. or never make it out of the D-League

4. For a non-supporter feature, this would take an incredible amount of time, effort, energy, bandwidth, server strength, etc... that would recquire more capital, so it may end up screwing supporters to pay more for a feature they don't get

5. Why should non-supporters be entitled to special features and such if they cannot/are not willing, to pay for supporter. 39.99 is less than $4 a month. That's less than a magazine subscription, that's less than Netflix, that's similar to an X-Box live account. Not very expensive. You could LITERALLY work 1 hour a month at burger king, and afford that.

Ok so you put 3 reasons why it would be a supporter only thing. I get it- id leave it up to BB if it would be supporter or not- and like I said- not all players would get to the draft..

Also, what's the point in making a feature, that's more in-depth than the actual "main game"?

just saying.

How is this more in depth? The scouting is a little more complex than the draft- but that's it.. All I'm saying is that I would rather see this than a 2nd team. Change things up a little bit..
But we are all entitled to our opinion so I will away my way as you sway yours.
