I have never played in a conference with this many bots. I wonder if this isn´t becoming more and more common.

Yes, users are down from about 16k 3-4 seasons ago to about 14.5k (that's roughly a 9.4% drop in users). Due to this, naturally in lower leagues there will be more bots.

I imagine games like this eventually settle into a core group of users. I am not aware of any other comparable games in the market, but I haven´t spent any time searching for them either. I have enough trouble trying to get ahead here. No need for more complications. I´ve read lots of complaints in the other forums about the economy, price of players, training, etc. Not all of it seems constructive and some of it I simply don´t understand. I´d like to see the roster issue addressed, but short benches appears to be a strategy that is being tolerated by the powers in charge of such things.

I don't get it. If the only objective of the game were to have the best team on the site, I'd get it but probably wouldn't participate. At some point you have protect the integrity of the competition at every level. If someone fouls out or gets injured, your opponent is forced to play against "lucky fan"--what a thrill!

Tonight with both teams, the opposing managers fielded a total of 8 players--three in Utopia and five here. Nothing in that for me. Much more of that and both of my teams will be bots.

(And...of course you want to have the best team on the site, and I understand rebuilding. I would simply prefer to see that accomplished with a full twelve man roster. At times, this game looks like a training simulation as opposed to competition on the basketball court.)

Everything gets more competitive in D.III and D.II. If you want good competition night in and night out, promote. If you cannot promote, you will unfortunately have to deal with bots and people rebuilding in the way that you described. There are definitely ways to train and rebuild with a roster of 8-9 per game, but until training minutes/game shape implications are altered in some way, it simply doesn't make sense to send out 12 guys if you are trying to train and develop players. When you think about the USA leagues look at it this way:

NBBA = NBA
D.II = G-league
D.III = College
D.IV = High-school

Obviously when you get to D.III and above the games are generally more competitive and people take it more seriously. In D.IV it truly is like lower tier high school basketball and it is a bit of a mess. Promote and this problem is mostly resolved.

Don’t change your training schedule/approach for me. I’d like to see a larger minimum roster size, but after thinking about it maybe the flexibility is a good thing. It’s a game after all. I’ll dial it back a few notches. Thanks for the input.
