Maintaining and progressing a site like this one can be a lot of work especially if this isn't the main bread winner for everyone on the staff thus requiring people to work other jobs at the same time to maintain a proper living.
That Being Said
If no has done it yet, I suggest reaching out to community colleges and university's that offer their students game development type programs. Not necessarily the school heads themselves unless you have those types of connections but rather looking up whether those schools have Majors or at least Minors in game development and maybe contacting a professor from that school (contacts can typically be found on Linkedn) about interns to take on board for low pay like stipends OR just experience at site development and maintenance as their pay and that they can add to their resume.
OR
Look and see if the school has a Club for gaming development or site development in general and try reaching out to them in regards to interns to help maintain this site and also progress it. Id imagine that would help reduce the number of bugs taking place each season and bring more steady in flow of new site developments back to the BB world.
Because they'd be students they may or may not already have a workable knowledge of what they are doing but if they aren't have someone or a couple people take the time to teach them what they nee to know even if it does take a little bit of time since it would pay off in the back end anyway. If you like them enough even bring them on board more long term. Also, they don't have to be in college really. The number of tech savvy kids in high school has gone through the roof rapidly over the years thanks to the emergence of E-gaming. Granted those games are different and the maturity of someone that young might not be there yet for something like this, I think its still worth a shot. That's all. You might have already done all this .
