Its been a long season with the successes and failures this Detroit Mercy Mavericks team has taken. The initial goal upon getting promoted to this level was to reach the playoffs and at this point that looks like its gonna happen. Furthermore the test of the national cup tournament was the strongest finish so far. Detroit was never expected to win it all but the hope was to go further then ever before. Brought in a decent amount of extra cash flow for the organization in the process.
Despite having a below .500 record the only real failure and a massive one at that was the transfer pick up of Andy Sellers, an American 7'5 nearly 100k salaried big man that never quite panned out. He was certainly good but never productive enough for the amount he was being paid. Considering the teams success with and without him, it became hard to justify continuing to pay his weekly salary when far less pricey talent like Lloyd Sprague and Camacho have been performing nearly as well and sometimes ...
