Hello all Home-Grown League (HGL) managers!

This is an official Scores Thread of HGL, in where all the Home-Grown League Pickup match box score links are being sent. These matches are assigned to you by HGL, so please do not send any other box score links to this thread. This thread is mainly not preferred to be used for discussion either, as both discussion and box score links/posts are mostly tried to be kept at separate places for the ease of use.

Remember an addition to HGL rules (on March 26th) on sending box score links: All teams send all box scores links before season starts, so they'll be immediately available for the whole Regular Season!

Please send box score links and update scores only to this Scores Thread, to your teams' own box score post (and not to league Commissioner BBMail, or to other homegrown teams-related forum threads).
Please follow (at least approximately) structure/formatting seen on my box score post (here: (328547.14)) when creating season box score post for your team on Scores Thread.

****Please note****
You may (but are not required to) in addition send your Pickup box score links for each match separately on this Thread. If you do, please do it the following way to make it easier for league Commissioner, and to help us to retain some standard.

To the box score forum thread post, please add:

1. Round number and day when the game was played
- as for Round number, you can write either R4 or Round 4 (Round 4 preferred)
- you can use any format, European or American
- If you use American format, as long as you use words you can do it any way you wish, for
instance "May 3rd", "12 May", etc.
- If you use any format without words, would you please follow European standards: day.month.year (exactly in this order!)

2. Names of the teams involved in a match
- HGL prefers using full names (instead of abbreviation)

3. Link to box score in either way:
A) by a regular kind of direct web page link to box score, such as https://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/XXXX/boxscore.aspx (in where XXXX represents the match number), you can simply access this by visiting match box score web page
B) go to the match box score page in question, and copy/make note of the number of the PU match (visible at web browsers' address line, or also in brackets after the team names). Then return to this forum thread to send your box score link, and do so by using 'a basketball button' on the page into where you write text to be sent to forum; that is located above the text frame. Pressing a button will automatically create a string of text such as '[match=XXX.XX]', and as you replace XXX.XX with your match number, the box score link will be automatically created. It will create a functional link to a match box score, which will look like this: (132386153).

4. Write score of the match to your post
- you are required to add a score of match to your box score post after match has been played; it creates a preferable minimum standard for HGL (and makes life of a league Commissioner even a little bit easier)

Please also read my post 'Other things to note and remember when sending box score links:' (found below, and here: (326590.8) if you have any doubts on how process works.

2. The match link above can be created by clicking a basketball image above text input screen (go to a HGL Scores thread, and reply a recent message to send your score). It automatically creates a string of text [match=XXX], and when you write/copy-paste match number to replace XXX, link for match will be created.

Announcement 5.10.2025:

We are now ready to organize all regular season matches for HGL Season 3!

If you´re unsure about process, please read: (326589.6), (324689.633) or ask questions on official HGL threads.


Info on organizing HGL regular Season 3 matches:

Very important: If you are responsible for organizing a PU game, you need to schedule it for the time listed on this page (in front of your team name): (328547.12)!

1. We'll re-use schedule (15 matches/team) from HGL Season 2.
Schedule can be found here: (328547.5) and (328547.6).
Please note:
A) use official schedule with bolded text when organizing matches. In schedule the team that has bolded name, is responsible for sending Pickup match challenge, and your opponent is responsible for accepting it.
B) note, that above schedules do not include match time. Match times during Season 3 will remain the same as during Season 2 (3.30PM EEST DST).

For each team an Official Local Time is provided, which they use when sending PU match invitations. Found (before team name), here: (328547.12).
Use only this time given to your team specifically, and nothing else, when organizing (also when accepting!) Pickup matches!

2. Before team sends or accepts match challenge, it is important to check out specifics of a match.
That means 3 things:
A) is day correct in a sent challenge? (check your own HGL schedule to confirm! Here: (328547.5) and (328547.6)
B) is time correct? (check your own team specific Official Local Time for HGL matches, link next one below).
Remember: if you are team sending challenge, you need to use designated time given to your team as a match time, found in this table: (328547.12)
If you are team that accepts challenge, match should take place at time that your team should play it's matches, your local time)
C) is court balance neutral (for regular season match)? If not, do not accept the match invitation. Matches played with wrong court balance do not count!
In such case, contact manager who has sent wrong challenge, and/or write a reminder on an official HGL thread, here: (328546.1), and/or send me a BBMail.

3. Send Pickup match invites to all teams, in which matchups your team name is bolded.
Schedule, here: (328547.5) and (328547.6)
To access each teams page easily, check this post: (328547.12)
Again, please be very careful with all the specifics (day, time, neutral court balance) when you send and accept invitations.

4. Accept all correct invites sent to you.
Check out:
A) should I be receiving this match invitation from this team? (HGL schedule provides answer). If not, don't accept it and contact manager by BBMail, send post to official HGL thread or BBMail to me.
B) If challenge comes from team that is supposed to send you a challenge, are all match specifics (day, time, neutral court balance) correct?

5. Check (and double check!) your BB schedule after whole process is completed.
Note:
A) not all managers accept invites quickly
B) you should have 15 regular season matches arranged for HGL Season 3
C) if you play also other Pickup matches than those for HGL, make sure you won't count them as being one of the 15
D) confirm that match dates and times show up correctly in your team schedule.
There has been problems with arranging PU matches, especially if they overlap some other match.
So we ask you to not play other than HGL Pickup matches so that they start just before HGL match, or so that they overlap it.

6. If all B), C) and D) from previous ('5.') are correct, let us know that all your matches are properly organized. I'll keep an updateable list of confirmed teams.

Please note that when HGL Season 3 starts, Daylight Savings Time (DST a.k.a. Summer Time) is observed in Europe, so it affects match times.

So for this Season Official designated match time for Season 3 is designated time for each team, which equals to 15.30, a.k.a. 3.30PM Eastern European Time (EET) Daylight Savings Time (DST).

In other words, you will play all HGL matches on Season 3 at your designated local time, that you can see on the above list before your team name. You will also use this time as a match time when you're responsible of sending Pickup match challenge. When accepting PU challenges from other teams, you need to make sure it's played at the same correct time (your local time) before you accept it.

Note, that box score links of matches will be copied to official schedule posts (here (328547.5), here (328547.6), and for playoffs here (328547.7)) from each manager's own box score posts, and only those matches on official posts are accepted as official HGL results.
(Match must start at the correct time, match number must be the same as in official schedule's copied links - in other words, managers can't change correct match links on their season box score post without approval or request by HGL league Commissioner).

Please note, in the order of significance:
A) If teams are tied in points, team with less forfeits will be higher ranked, and
B) Teams tied for regular season points are officially ranked based not on scoring differential, but rather based on the result of their current season regular season match (winner of that match will be a higher ranked team).
League table will/might not reflect this correctly before the last regular season match (Round 15) scores have been revealed, after which Official Regular Season Rankings (ORSR) for Season 1 of HGL are being released, and playoff matches for that season will be organized based on aforementioned ORSR.
"In the order of significance" (above) means, that comparison is made in this order, if teams are tied in points.

PS. As you can see, Buzzerbeater text editor is utterly useless for tables such as this, and disagrees to accept previous formatting that text/table has had (completely ignores word or excel formatting), or even refusing to add spaces that I add between the numbers.

Information on Regular Season and Playoffs match days for HGL Season 3:

Match days will be Mondays and Fridays during Regular Season (RS) and Sundays during Playoffs (PO).
All teams face each other once during RS.
In Playoffs home court advantage always goes to better team. Playoffs is a single-elimination tournament, only exception being a semifinal, from which losers of semifinal proceed to a Bronze match.

HGL Season 3 Playoffs:

PO Round 1 (teams ranked 5th-12th; 8 play): Sunday, December 14th, 2025
PO Round 2 (quarter-finals; 8 teams play): Sunday, December 21st, 2025
PO Round 3 (semifinals; 4 teams play): Sunday, December 28th, 2025
PO Round 4 (final and a bronze match; 4 teams play): Sunday, January 4th, 2026

Please remember to organize new Playoff matches every single week, if you keep on winning (or lose in semifinals) and are still participating on this Season's Playoffs!

Remember: match time will remain same (3.30PM EET DST) during Playoffs, but because DST (Daylight Savings Time) is not observed when Playoff match organizing begins, match times for Season 3 Playoffs will be your local equivalent of 2.30PM EET (so for instance in Poland and France, which are 1 hour behind of EET, Playoffs match time on Season 3 will be 1.30PM).
(During Season 3 most Regular Season matches will take place in practice 2.30PM EET, but in HGL we don't change official match times in a midst of a regular season).

Also remember, Playoff matches are played on Sundays only!

Note: Please keep on adding your Playoff match links as soon as match has been organized (so that I can verify it and copy-paste it to official HGL schedule), and scores of matches to your team's own Season box score post.

When organizing matches for Playoffs, please remember to be especially accurate with correct match court balance (always home/away for Playoffs matches!) as I can not verify that before match has started; remember that scores on wrong court balance will not be accepted!

NOTE: This table will be used throughout the Playoffs to determine which team will meet which.

TBA #8 (Some things to note and remember when sending box score links-post)

We'd like to ask you to follow certain routines/rules when sending box score links and scores to this Thread so that we could make process a bit more manageable to a league Commissioner and to ensure smooth and fair functioning of HGL.

So in addition to what has been mentioned before, there are some things to note and remember when sending box score links, and also few reminders/tips on how we can make operation of HGL as smooth as possible:

1. For Season 3 it is not a requirement for you to send a separate box score posts for each match to a HGL Scores Thread, but all managers are required to add HGL match links and match scores to their own box score posts. When doing that, keep these requirements in mind:
A) all Regular Season match links need to be sent prior to season beginning
B) managers are required to add scores of matches to box score post after they have been played
C) especially during playoffs it is necessary to send box score links to matches within certain time frame (timeframe during Playoffs likely at the very least on Friday) so that I can ensure before the match that match specifics (teams, day, time) are correct.

2. Remember, that PU games are not visible to other users than for the teams involved in the match, so either you or your opponent must send the link to the box score, as nobody else can do it. If you notice it being sent to a wrong thread (other than this), please do send it again in this correct forum thread.

3. In some (unlikely) cases it might be necessary for a league Commissioner to send you a reminder by BBMail or on official league thread 'Home-Grown League (HGL) Season 2 Official Thread', if no box score link to match has been sent to this forum thread.

4. Please also bear in mind, that it is not a duty/obligation of a league Commissioner to send such reminder posts/BBMails, but managers involved in a match are responsible for sending box score links within the required timeframe.

5. Based on discretion, during Playoffs league Commissioner can also accept box score links sent to the aforementioned, official league forum, but as a basic rule All box score links should be sent on this Scores Thread only, and to be more precise to your own season box score post.
In other words, if you are in a real hurry when organizing urgent match for Playoffs, you are allowed to send box score link of match to Scores Thread as a separate post, but be aware that it doesn't release you from the obligation to add it to your own season box score post (as soon as you can).

6. It's the aim of the league Commissioner to update the league table within a decent timeframe of played matches to keep it relatively current.
Given that all updates to league table are done manually, please be prepared to it that updates practically won't ever happen as quickly as in a regular Buzzerbeater league.

7. As an important reminder: all us managers organize all Regular Season matches during one time window before the regular season starts, so when every manager does this properly, all the regular season matches will be played in time (I´ll check each match specifics before season starts). Please be careful with match court balance (neutral during Regular Season!) as I can't check that before match!

8. Lke mentioned before, Playoffs is the riskiest time of the year for HGL, so we´d like to ask you to set up some reminders (on phone, computer, calendar, etc.) so that you remember to arrange Playoff match for your team each and every week (unless you lose before semifinals, which is the last match of the season for your team).
