Grats to NYC and good riddance

Prolly would have smoked your sorry butt in the PO if I hadn't lost the 2OT game. But what evah.

I'm guessing DOC will promote also since there are at least 4 bots in D2.

GL next season and don't come back

I think it's doubtful that Doc will auto-promote (if I understand correctly that the auto-promotion formula goes by best record). Their record is not even in the top 10 of the non-winning team records in d.III. That's what we get for being a bunch of ball busters to each other...

Congrats to NYC and best of luck in DII! Thanks for the great season everyone - huge fan of this active, competitive league.

Congrats on the title. But to be fair, style of defense should be pretty inconsequential when a 340k payroll plays a 230k one. If the owner has any knowledge of team building they should destroy the lower salary team. I could have played 3-2 with some extra guys on the floor running a box and 1 and you still would have destroyed me. No disagreement here.

You can gripe all you want about salaries, but a team that has been around since season 4 can pretty much do what it wants. And I'm guessing he has higher aspirations than merely getting out of D3.

The truth is that this is a miserable group to be in because it's so competitive. The bright side is that steel sharpens steel and most of the teams that promote from here are poised to compete at the next level.

Like most manager games, tactics make a small difference. Players make a big difference. And really good players end up with high salaries. The art is how you manage all of that. You've done a good job building a team in a very short time. But I knew from the start that NYC was probably going to win the league. He's just been around too long.

As a matter of fact, he's the only person I have on my buddy list. That's because he was my mentor when I came back to the game. I doubt we interacted more than a couple of times, but I could always see his transfers pop up in my news feed. And it was obvious he knew what he was doing.

Chill out dude. There is no griping. It’s just a fact. And I’ve been around since season 9 and had a few seasons in the NBBA. Played in the conference finals of the NBBA twice when this place had 3 times the amount of teams. Anyways I know he’s a very good manager and I know he has a well built 340k roster. I know it’s not an overly bloated one. That’s my exact point, it didn’t matter what system or style I played he was going to win. But thanks I guess for explaining it to me again as your knowledge of how to reach those levels must be considerable. (Is it?) And actually I’ve really enjoyed this league because of its competitiveness, it’s been a lot of fun. I wish I could stay and battle it out for a few more seasons but I know I need about 4 million in arena and facilities before I can truly compete at D2 and the NBBA. Because again I’ve been there before many times and I know quite well I need to have in place to be a good NBBA team. So It’s time to end the smoke and mirrors act that I’ve been pulling off and finish the build. Come back…with a better FCP team. Muahaha

It’s been really fun working on perfecting a different system.

My next decision is my Utopia team. Do I just turn it into a development team for our U21 and NT teams. Not try to compete, just train national team players. I know we need more trainers. Yuck has me thinking that I probably should.

I think you should do that with your Utopia team. That is a really cool idea. I may have to think about doing that myself. I used to enjoy training players for the national team.
