Well, if you train centers you should win in ID and rebounds, otherwise you'll lose all the matchs! If I've to play against a team that has better guards than me, the defeat is almost sure cause more or less we will have the same level of centers because we don't train them. You've to wait a little bit and to increase as much as you can your ID and rebounds, then you'll see that with some decent guards you can easily win against an outside attack.

Last consideration that I forgot to write yesterday is about home or away match; I'm quite sure that the new engine gives more advantage if you play at home.

PS: I've tried 1-3-1 in this match: (2299100), the result it was good. You must be sure that the other team will play motion or run&gun, otherwise you'll have more than one problem

You raised a second point worth discussing, which is that at the end of the game three-point shooting becomes very important if you are behind. Let me first say that there are actually two things that become very important, not one. It's also true that free throw shooting becomes very important if you are ahead (just ask Memphis!). The problem with taking a two-point shot in that situation is that you can't really make up much ground. If you are down 6 points with 30 seconds left, then if you take 2 point shots every time, you need the other team to miss at least 4 free throws unless you get a steal, or you can't possibly come back to tie.

I only read the first longer posts. Maybe it's just me but i would like to see a box in set order page saying something like: "who will take your last second/minute 3 pointes" That would give me a feeling of controling my wins/losses a little more. Now i see my c or pf's take last minute threes.

And now an utopic thought based on my last one, maybe we could also pick who will bring the ball over (maybe player with best driving/handling etc)

Nice lecture!
I think most people posting in the forum are logically people not happy with the changes, game engine, etc.
I just would like to add that after the changes my team stayed the same. I win the matches very similarly to before. I think my team is balanced, half of them are coming from my starting team and draft, I care very much about FT and stamina, I try to have players that allow me to use effectively different tactics and it works great. I did not have any player qualified for the ASG, and the salary is quite reasonable. At this moment my team is first with 17-2 balance in the second division of Spain.
Sometime I wonder why most teams are trying to specialize in outside or inside orientation, because I think the game (real and simulated basket) offers a lot more possibilities.

What really concerns me is the TIE/CT matches. There's no way to predict whether you can win, or the effects of such decision. Actually, you can predict that if you play TIE, you'll lose!

I agree with you that playing TIE is more risky than before.
And I agree with Ned that the home court advantage seems to be increased.

But I have TIEd all my games since the new GE release and I have won them all... so i find your statement a bit too strong :)

Some teams will use training to improve their team, so they choose wether they train guards or centers. Or teams don't care that much about training and trade a lot, so they can make a balanced team more easy.

I woud love to have a balanced team, but since i'm training centers and power forwards and since I don't have the money to buy guards who improve my team enough, my team is focused on the inside.

Of course, I respect very much everyone's choice, but I don´t understand why people think that an inside focus consists of having good C and PF. PG and SG (and of course SF) have an important role in the inside focus.
In my opinion passsing, driving and inside shot are very valuable for PG and SG, and those with low JS and JR are not so expensive.
Very often (not your case), a bad understanding of the game make people complain because they don´t understand why they are losing, and decide something is wrong in the game engine (and try to change it) instead of realizing that what it is wrong is their strategy.

Hi Charles. First of all thank you for taking part in the thread. Its very important for us the contributions you make in the forum. It gives us the opportunity to ask about all those things that we don´t understand. You are doing a great job with the game and also with the community.

But there are two questions that i dont understand.

In the news and now in the forums you say:
The first issue is the effect of TiE and CT. What I'd say here is simply to remind you that under the old system, when you played CT or TiE it would make your ratings go up, but under the new system, it does not

A lot of users of the spanish community (wich i try to represent here) are telling me that the old effects of the TIE and CT still have effects on the ratings. I realized it also in my first league match with the new engine. I lost the same Inside Defense and the same Rebounds that i used to lose with a TIE in the old engine ratings.

However, it seems that now something more has changed, when you play with a lower attitude you lose something more that you cant see on the ratings. (that could be the changes you told us), but now.. the TIE seems to have the same effects than before in the Inside Def. and the Reb., but now we have to add the new changes. That could be the reason of how lots of players that had a great streak playing always in TIE are starting to fall a lot of matches now when they play TIE.

This are my two first TIEs with the new engine. I lost Inside Defense and Rebounding on my ratings, but i also lost the 2 matches. I was 12-1 before the changes.

(2844502)

And this is a match of a friend that can help. He also was 12-1 before the changes and now he has lost 3 of 6.
This one is very meaningful about what a higher attitude can do.

(2845050)

Im sorry if its hard to understand what i want to say, English is not my first language and I do the best that i can. I hope that this post will help.

Regards.
