I can't add much except to agree that 16 points is nothing for my team to give away, even late in the 4th quarter, and scoring 50 in one quarter does happen infrequently. I can't say I have ever given away a 16 point lead and had a team drop 50 on me on in the same quarter--at least not in recent memory. Using aggressive tactics like RNG w/FCP can lead to wide swings in the margins with competitive teams and this GE does seem to grant consistently the favored team in a contest one dominant quarter. I don't know if any of that correlates to the specific match in question, but it's all I have.

Anybody do any draft scouting yet? I am trying to decide if it is worth spending or saving my draft points.

I just started looking last night. So far it is slim picking for players I am looking for this year, but I have never used conventional training methods and I pretty much just blew up my team. I saw one possible NT candidate if the draftee found the right home; If someone were looking to train best available, I saw two or three that would probably be worth some investment.

@LDR - That new 'Murican look to your squad is nice! Great pickups on the TL.

Thanks! Needed a change. Thinking about going Homegrown, but it will take a few seasons to transition and I might get relegated a few times. We are taking our lumps tonight in the PL.

I am a mostly home grown team. It is a tough road, as it takes a few seasons, but it can add a level of investment in your players. You see any decent bigs in what you have looked at? My original big man probably only has a season or two left in him.

I have already noticed a big uptick in merchandising, more than I expected, just by going with a national team. I'm still trying to decide how best to transition to Homegrown--I hate to do it all at once, but that might be the most effective way to transition in the long run.

The way I evaluate players, there are a lot of 19 year-olds in my top twenty; very few big men at the top of my list; there are three very tall-- 7 foot or taller--at the bottom of my top 20; I have not scouted or interviewed any of them and have not seen their potential. With my draft position I might land one of those big men, unless several GM's are hunting those players. If we don't sign another top-tier player from the TL, I'm guessing my draft position will be much better next season :-). I hope to avoid relegation, but that, most likely, will depend entirely on how far training takes us at season's end.

Yeah, I make about double the league average in merchandise. To get the maximum benefit, and I am not sure it is worth it, then you need to draft, develop, and hold onto your own players. So it takes awhile to say the least. It also makes you give a lot more thought into when to move players, and drafting.

Obviously, they have to have good core stats, but for me the biggest thing is potential. If I am going to train them for a couple seasons, then the finished result has to be worth it. We have two teams that might have gone bot. So that should help you get someone a little higher on your list. I have to imagine you will come away with someone in your top 4. Unless, you see a steal on the TL list, then I would hold off. You can always save up, and nab someone (maybe a little better) for a late season run next year. Best of luck with your training!

Indeed, there are two teams that have been AWOL for about a month now. I always hate to see that. I've played in leagues with 3-4 bots in each conference--not as fun. I grabbed a decent big man off of the TL today and that should help a little with the rebuild. I just didn't have enough potential with the current homegrown talent to make a dent. The transition is going to take a little longer than I thought. Either way, I'm looking forward to this upcoming season. Hopefully, we can get enough training in to be presentable and make through the next couple of seasons.

It looks like you have a great shot at making through to DII this season. Good luck on your run this week!

Well guys, it's time to say goodbye.

There have been many seasons I've really enjoyed the game without participating in the forum too (I apologize for it).
Now it's time to disconnect, charge batteries and look for other incentives.

Thanks for everything and good luck in real life !!
