Wow, reading through the nationalism on display in this thread is so, so sad. What a terrible world we live in.

If there is a way of merging leagues but keeping flags, NTs, player nationalities, national forums then nobody's national pride should be harmed?

Think of it like a Champions League in football.

While I would not have a problem with merging Austria I would prefer for Austria to be merged with either Switzerland or Switzerland and Germany, the "little europa" solutin is not really that great in my opinion because these Nations have "nothing" in common

The most important question is: What is it for?

You say, you will have stronger NT's. OK, this will work .... for the first view seasons. You will have maybe 10 national Leagues and 10 Utopia Leagues. But ... Utopia doesn't work at all. The community is dead!
Not everybody is feeling comfortable with discussing problems in English or doing some jokes (me too ;-)

So, if you don't be carefull, more users will leave the game than others who prefer playing in large competitive leagues will join it.

The best way to find out is to ask every user and every nation. A thread like this with 20-40 users can never be the fundament for a promising decision.

There are many problems in BB whitch are more important for many Manager.

What about continental competitions like Champions League and Euro League?

It's really embarrassing to see so many stereotypes and prejudices being confirmed. Feels like there are still countries stuck in the 19th century or maybe even earlier...

If we consider that most members of those nations are playing this game for free, the question is, if losing those freeloaders does any damage to the game... The database gets lighter and the performance for the remaining ones better.

Creating fake Utopia nations has been dismissed already and is off the stove...

I would like to share my opinion on the matter.

First of all, a quick introduction: I'm French and I lived in Malaysia for many years. I feel very connected to the country and the managers from Malaysia. I'm also the U21 manager for Malaysia and try my best to make our small community proud of what we have.

As it has been mentioned before, losing the national flag doesn't seem like a realistic option. Countries should stay as they currently are. Regarding NT, this is a fact that we can't compete with the best teams in the world but in a good year, we have some interesting results and be proud of ourselves. In the real world, Malaysia NT can't even expect the wins we can have in BB. A possible solution would be to copy what has been done by the FIBA with multiple levels competition. In Europe, there are 3 levels with the last one being almost exclusively made of micro-nations such as Monaco, Andorra, Luxembourg... I like this idea so a NT can also improve and the results are really meaningful on the long term. It's not only the world rank which change but there is a (fat) chance to get relegated or promoted.
