Hello !
I've just tested PlayPass, I think there is something unbalanced, bacause except the 2 best teams facing each other at the last game, the other teams don't face their "twin" at the end.
Due to my lack of english, I give an example below, it will be more explicit.
In MY schedule, team1 (the best) will face team2 (the second best) for the last game. Team1/Team3 the game just before, and so on. Team 16 / Team 15 for the last game.
In PLAYPASS, it's the same for team 1, but not for team.. 3 for example.
Looking nearer, it seems, that Playpass is pratically the same as mine, excepted one or 2 games, so we can take playpass. The good point, also, is that it's creating the rankings instantly.
I don't know about the functionality of Playpass for instance, but I suppose it might be necessary for us to accept somewhat imperfect (randomized as in Playpass?) schedule?
I mean if we want to adjust it ourselves, it should be done in a fair/equal way and with that amount of matches I take it that it's quite if not very difficult or at least arduous to rearrange them manually and still ensure every match is being played (even using that Playpass regular season schedule as a base model/starting point)?
Also I see those good things/strong points in strongest facing strongest and weakest facing weakest at the end, but I think it's not ideal that whole season runs like that (for example, if best team would face team ranked no. 14th, then 13th, then 12th and so on, because then best ones would "lock in" their playoff place very early on and worst would likely be out of playoffs, also quite early on during the season.
Randomizing the schedule on the other hand hurts some teams in a season in terms of totally fair schedule (at which point of the season you'll face hard and easy opponents, if and as the order is not the same for all teams), but in a way it might be fairest thing to do, as
in theory the effect of luck (in terms of what kind of regular season schedule you'll receive for the coming season) should equalize during multiple seasons of play... Still haven't given this as much thought as possible though, so let's see if new thoughts arise.
