Maybe it is sufficient to keep the old players who is only marginally better than their alternative on the bench out of the team. Having 6 young players as the fill out players might make it rather easy during the season to replace players who has skill drops as well.

Todays game against Austria was the decisive game if we can reach second place.
After the first quarter everything looked like we were going to win it. But from the second quarter onwards we gave the game out of our hands. Austria started shooting and scoring their 3points and we couldn't score on our side. During the game only Birgersson and Fredriksson could bring the needed power. Säfen had a lot of problems against their OD.
Before the game I took a look at our players and wanted to play LI. But as I knew, the austrian NT and staff would scout us and propably go with a LI GDP. And they used it. Despite their minus on defense we couldn't use it. And that's a big hit. We had an extremly strong Game Shape and the false GDP on our side and still we coudl use it only for one quarter.

The posts from you for the last days gave me some important input and I will take your ideas.
The managers of the most promessing players will get mails during the next days. We will discuss some needed skills. I started tracking the DMI for the older players. For the next weeks there will be some new nominations for the NT.

The next two scrimmages will be U27 games. The first one against Bosnia, the second one against Bulgaria.
I will test our younger squad and look how well they are already.

Our two scrimmages with the young guys are played. the first one was against a older team of Bosnia, the second one against a U27+ecxeption team from Bulgaria.

What we learned until now:
- we are moving to a pretty well 3pt shooting team. 17-30 (57%) in RnG and 3-4 (75%) in LI are strong numbers. it's clear that with enthusiasm 1, there is no defense, but the direction is the right one
- Säfén and Birgersson are our two center pillars. They have the highest TSP and play already on a high level. If nothing bad happens (e.g. their managers sell them) the NT will have two exellent guys
- Danielsson and Westerlund played some great minutes and showed the stuff I hoped to see. They are different kind of players and with them we can go outside or inside.
- our outside cast is still a little bit shacky. Sunesson, Stjärnland and Carlsson are on the right way but still miss here and there some skills.
- we are not the best rebound team. There were periods, where we got outrebounded. I'm not sure if it was only because of the enthusiasm. But time will show.

Next Monday we play a U25 game against Germany. After some cheating with Birgersson's documents, he will play too He just looks younger than he is, so it's oaky.
After that we will play against Croatia. I don't know if this will be a U27 game of if I will try to go with the best possible team of established NT players and some of the young ones.

Illka will be working on his SB to bring that rebounding up to par. Always easier to rebound a contested miss after all.

Very excited about his first action! 10 more years!

Yesterday's game ended 134:126 for us. It was a close game but our young guys sealed the deal.
Man of the game was Birgersson. With 35 pts and 13 rebs he was a force. Säfén played against an OD 21 guard but still performed pretty well. The big positive surprise was Sunesson. 27 pts, a strong free throw shot and no stupid shots. Stjärnland had a well rounded game and he could turn out as a future triple double player.
Dehllund had some bigger problems with his opponent. He was fouled out and this showed, that his current defense has to improve. Danielsson had a low GS, but still managed to hold his ground. These two guys are our current defense prospects. Danielsson is even on the edge to be a well balanced player with a high defense.
Wetserlund had a good game as Birgerssons back up and Carlsson had to take a break... I could only bring one guy older than 25 years to the game.

Next week we will play against Croatia... if everything still is the same like last week. The upcoming game will be a with the best possible line up. That means the older ones like Tjädermo and Widerström will come back and the young ones will fill in the new empty spots. It's time to combine our two parts and see how well they are already.

I'm curious to know why you play Sunesson at PG and Säfén at SG? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to swap them around?

My thinking was like this:
The highest OD will be at SG. So if Sunesson has to play there, he will be overpowerd. Säfen has enough fire power to play against such a high OD. And Sunesson could make some points against a "weaker" PG.
But I didn't know that the SG will have OD 20+...
