Hi Charles. First of all thank you for taking part in the thread. Its very important for us the contributions you make in the forum. It gives us the opportunity to ask about all those things that we don´t understand. You are doing a great job with the game and also with the community.

But there are two questions that i dont understand.

In the news and now in the forums you say:
The first issue is the effect of TiE and CT. What I'd say here is simply to remind you that under the old system, when you played CT or TiE it would make your ratings go up, but under the new system, it does not

A lot of users of the spanish community (wich i try to represent here) are telling me that the old effects of the TIE and CT still have effects on the ratings. I realized it also in my first league match with the new engine. I lost the same Inside Defense and the same Rebounds that i used to lose with a TIE in the old engine ratings.

However, it seems that now something more has changed, when you play with a lower attitude you lose something more that you cant see on the ratings. (that could be the changes you told us), but now.. the TIE seems to have the same effects than before in the Inside Def. and the Reb., but now we have to add the new changes. That could be the reason of how lots of players that had a great streak playing always in TIE are starting to fall a lot of matches now when they play TIE.

This are my two first TIEs with the new engine. I lost Inside Defense and Rebounding on my ratings, but i also lost the 2 matches. I was 12-1 before the changes.

(2844502)

And this is a match of a friend that can help. He also was 12-1 before the changes and now he has lost 3 of 6.
This one is very meaningful about what a higher attitude can do.

(2845050)

Im sorry if its hard to understand what i want to say, English is not my first language and I do the best that i can. I hope that this post will help.

Regards.

A balanced and flexible team is always a good idea, and the game engine tries to reward it.

Now, here's what we do to try to help an inside team in that spot: when we know that you need to take a three-pointer, we'll partially ignore your depth chart and if you have a really good shooter on the bench, we'll bring him into the game to help you have a better chance to make the shot.

After reading the full post from Patjebono and knowing there where about 25 replies I was aware it would take me much time to read all.
After reading your post, I just stopped reading other replies, because this one says it all.
As you requested I will give some feedback on these few points of you I quoted.

First one: I can confirm that this seems to be true. I think of myself to have a prety balanced team. I have no real starplayers, and should 1 get injured (unless it is one of my 2 best PGs) I don't think my team will be weakened in any way. I had no problems whatsoever with the new engine, while it seems that less balanced teams do have trouble winning as easely as before.
I'm not telling it is a good thing, or not, I just feel that what you tried to achieve, is what you achieved.

To the second point: I think this is a great idea. It would also be logic for a coach to field their 3 point-guys in the final minute if they need to make 3 point shots. Very good idea!

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

I'm training guards, and before the changes in the Game engine, I did not stand a chance against an inside focused team. If you look at these two games (2475276) and (2475323), my opponents and my team are more or less evenly matched in the ratings (my outside advantage against their inside advantage). The effort level is probably the same in both games (I'm certain of that in the second game). Still I loose by 34 and 15 points (and only because I played a much better 4th quarter against the reserves).

So from my point of view, the changes in the game engine were necessary, or I would have switched to an inside Training regime. But I can't quite assess the changes yet, since my opponents were not that tough since then.

I also focused on inside, due to training, but also last season i understood that a winning team should have at least some degree of balance, outside players with high ratings in shooting, range, defense handling & passing are very expensive, but you can find a quite good shooter with low defense or a good defender with high passing & handling but pitiful shooting with reasonable-low prices.
With those players a 3-2 defense works fine, 1-3-1 is a bit extreme, but useful when your oponent lacks of rebound (study your opponent) and also you have a good shooter for match end situations.
IMO TIE/CT had always affected defense , inside and outside, since i think its a percentage, the higher will go down more, and also i think long range shooting (just look my 3P percentage) but from ASG it's not showed on ratings any more. I'm not happy with that change, since playing TIE often, my opponents used to underestimate me, but now i think they are helpful to estimate real team potential

I'm also a bit worried about this match(2846823) because it may reflect a normal/CT result. But also i believe that normal + high enthusiasm is better than CT + normal enthusiasm. (I hope it's true) btw, does this sentence " looked like the only team trying out there." mean the other team played CT?

Shot blocking is definitely 100% useless right now.

I disagree with that. in RL a good shot blocker has a noticeable impact on many players, based on intimidation and psychology, most players use to fail more shoots or not shoot for a while after being blocked.
I don't think BB takes acount on that but in exchange Shot blocking has rewards looking on inside players training. I missed SB training last season (thought as you) but this one after three weaks of SB training i got SB pops and also other skills pops. balanced training is faster than monoskill training and also make better players (with higher salaries :( )

That's what I said in my first post as well, but I think they went from way right to way left, if you understand what I mean. From black to white, from day to night ;).
(ok i'm exaggerating a bit lol)
