From my experience working in the sports industry and also just being a spectator, season home openers tend to have near sell out attendance regardless of the sport. Basketball, mens and women's soccer, hockey, and even our football team which was one of the worst the prior year had great season opening attendance reaching into the 90s in percentile of overall capacity. The next few games attendance has always varied after the results of the opener which makes sense. That's at the division 1 university level from my experience working. In spectating, I attend a lot of NBA, MLB, and major league soccer matches each year where iv noticed the same trend as a fan of teams in Detroit, Philly, and a couple other cities.

My team were runner-ups last season, and won the season away opener BUT still had relatively poor attendance for the second game of the season which was my own home opener and that doesn't make sense. Even if you take last season out of the equation, if everyone is reset to respectable game shape and team motivation level I don't understand how that equates to a bad game and lower attendance...especially the second of the two. No game receives more marketing than the first game when an organizations trying to set the tone for the rest of the season off of the fresh beginning.

That's an algorithm that needs to be reworked since it impacts every league level in varying capacities. The only teams that wouldn't care about this are the ones planning on tanking away the season anyway and sure enough they'll be complaining in the next season when they aren't tanking anymore.

I am working on this issue, but there are no quick solutions. To understand correctly if and where the problem lies, I need to have some data over time. First two matches of the season always have low attendance and I agree with Naeem, this should not be so - it just isn't realistic. I'll see what can be done.

I don't understand something. You say " I need to have some data over time. First two matches of the season always have low attendance ", but this attendance problem has started long before the new season. In my case, I have this problem since the last 3 home games of the last regular season. The date of the first match concerned is 01/28/2020.

in the first game my income was 280k
league average is 320k
i used to have a similar income in the past, although i could benefit from the promotion boost

in the first 3 games income is still high because marin recalculated it

It's definetely a bug. I just played with a team(2.329 WR) which just demoted from 2nd division, after I won one of the first two games and the cup game, instead of gaining money I got 15k less than the first game, that was against a team(11.145 WR)that promoted from 4th division! Correct me if I am wrong but world rank(position in the league) does matter...

I relegated on purpose last season because of this attendance issue, but it didn't help, attendance is terrible down here too. The worst part of this problem is that it only affects some teams, so you have some manager who are going to loose maybe up to $1 million in ticket revenues, while other managers will be unaffected. It's very unfair.

I dropped my prices and my attendance still dipped drastically this week.
