I think the hardest team to prepare for was the Philipines. Big props to Morwood on taking them to a bronze medal this year. They were a big pain because of the way that they moved Musa around in the lineup and varied their tactics. I think that patient could be something that we add as a once in a while tactic. It's a better GDP complement to Look Inside (Slow vs Fast) than Base or Inside Iso. It would also allow us to exploit the low OD bigs that you see on the U21. Only problem is that we need someone to train a JS/JR monster. We didnt really have that last season so it wasn't a viable option.

I agree with this sentiment. The hive mind at the offsite is a huge advantage for us gameplanning and prepping. If I am elected U21 manager, the one thing that definately wont change is how we approach gameplanning. I love how ebw would ask for opinions on every little thing before making a decision.

At the same time a u21 manager, needs to be able to make the tough call that goes against what most people want to do. EBW made some gut check types of calls that went against offsite public opinion. Without those tough calls we dont win s27 worlds goal.

EBW set up a scrimmage against Australia. I would like to hear the candidates talk about their opinion on tactics for that game, including lineup and GDP. There's a thread on the offsite or you could do it here.

Well, looking at the rosters, it seems like australia only has 2 big men to worry about, one of which is injured, and it doesn't look like their guards are too dangerous. On the other hand, America seems to have a strong set of guards AND big men, so America should be fine no matter what strategy we need to use. Obviously I can't decide who I would start etc because I can't see the skills of our players, However as for our strategy, I would honestly just do a simple base offense with man to man defense. Since it is only a scrimmage, it's a perfect opportunity to test out our new roster and see where we stand. We would be able to see our strengths and weaknesses of this seasons teams. As far as GDP goes, I would ask what other people think on the offsite, but personally I would not want to risk it since a new season, new team, calls for new strategies, so it would be very difficult to guess correctly, however I would do research and give it my best prediction.

Thanks. By the way I encourage you to join the offsite. Fewmit has the pipeline posted there and you can see a list of some of the top players.

As someone with no real interest in the NT scene, pretend that I'm a fairly new user that has drafted a 60 TSP 18yo with great potential. What would your advice be?

Well, first I would ask if it was a big man, guard or small forward. That would help haha. But I would encourage you to buy at least a level 4 (superior) trainer. The higher level the trainer the better the training will be. In addition I would advise you to do one position training, and have you play your player in the position of the training you wish to do.Ex: If you were training a small forward and wanted to train the SF in inside defense, I would suggest that you play you SF at the center position that week to maximize training. Extra advice would really depend on what position your trainee is, or what you want your trainee to be.

This is the United States coming off of 2 consecutive worlds, and as far as I have seen from my occasional offsite lurking, of all the candidates, Phyr and mars seem to be some of the active ones in the discussions and threads for our U21s

I would definitely like to hear why any somewhat uneducated voter (like me) would want to stray away from the winning path for a candidate with little/lesser offsite experience?
