Nice, the legendary coco is back in the top league. I'm star struck!

Welcome back Deronimo and HipsterBears.

EWB is here as well. Look forward to his posts and analysis.

And welcome first timer Big Gulp Reincarnated.

Yike, 6 teams with over 1M rosters as of this morning. Here I'm counting beans to keep my econ from going into the red. :(

I like a little qualitative, punchy discussion of day games. So here goes my report on opening day.

The most thrilling match of the day was White Walkers @ The Orchestra. The Orchestra played without Toney who got injured in the pre-season scrimmage. (I dread those preseason scrimmages for just this reason) Even considering the absence, it's not totally clear to me how WW pulled this win off. In a vacuum I pick the Orchestra's ratings, but the pp100 tells a different story.

Warroad @ Hipsterbears is kind of similar, except that here at least I can see that Warroad used more effort. I suspect these ratings are depressed compared to my expectations because the fashion of the times in the NBBA is to play a bad bench. Killer performance by Morse here, who parlays a 104 PP100 to 11-14 FG5%. Some days it's your day.

Deronimo hangs on to beat Flashover who run a quirky reverse Low Post. I do like loading up the JS in a low post and Vilja gets to eat for two today --- his 36 pts representing the highest scoring across the league.

Splash Gang, Visionaries, and High Point Heroes get newly promoted teams at home and pummel them. Splash Gang field NT point god Aboki for the last time, but he won't go far away, as Big Gulp Reincarnated signs him on the cheap (and current stalwart Keiser who was not cheap). Only note in this lot is that HPH uses enthusiasm at a time when it could have boosted their competitiveness going into the away game at EBW.

Speaking of bad benches it was driving me a little crazy that Peluin's scrub Polk ended up the game with a positive +/- when he was often in MTM coverage against my highest salary guard. If your team can go +3 while fielding 12 minutes of a 3k scrub, life is good.

TV chose to show Beware of Dogs @ Rhino's Rage. It was a tight game until Rhino pulled away in the second half of the third. At the beginning of the fourth a brutal groin injury took out Keburis, who was having a good night in the C slot of a reverse Patient offense. Despite the injury, Beware managed 33 points in the fourth, but not enough to get close. Ultimately between the big injury and the wasted normal they'll be licking their wounds.

It's the injury that hurts the most. 3 weeks...not 3 games ... 3 weeks! :(

As far as my game goes, I think my starting lineup is top tier in the league and they ran a bad offense to play against the 3-2. With the injury to Toney I was pretty confident I could get the road win

Love the writeup!!

And thanks for the confidence. With Toney on the bench my team is a shell. He makes the difference for the whole team when he's down low. And I had to field two players that have no business on a NBBA court. I might've had more success with a different offense, but props to White Walkers. I'll take my lumps. It seems like it's been the Orchestra's MO in recent seasons to lose early. We'll see how the season shapes up... Hopefully Toney can get healed on Thursday so I can injure him in a meaningless cup game before the Friday GS update really screws me over. Wish me luck losing my first B3 game!

You asked for it (on discord)! And Llanos dropped 4-4 FGs too. My $3k guys aren't scrubs they've just taken hometown discounts and all have 150 TSP I swear.
