The Eagles are facing financially one of the most difficult times in their history. Last season, most of the savings were heavily invested in new players with the goal of promoting to the BBBL at the end of that season. However, things didn't work out as expected, and once again, RSC Eagles was left empty-handed without promotion to the BBBL, and once again ended up vice-champion in this division.
Athough the Eagles did not promote, the roster was kept, but has the board right now with a rope around it's neck financially wise. None of the expensive players were sold, which means the Eagles are still turning a heavy loss each week that passes by, which has our reserves totally used up as we speak...
The board has decided to wait the outcome of this season, but if again it is closed without promotion, the roster of the Eagles will have to be drastically downgraded, to be able to keep on as a viable operation.
So no promotion end of this season, will certainly mean the departure of at least 2 star players of our current roster. Promotion, however would mean we could keep the roster and build towards becoming a permanent BBBL team.
Although the hopes are high (as usual), the board already braces towards serious reorganisation of the team, which in it's turn would mean a lower quality team. But i guess we'll have to do what we have to, to keep our heads above the water so to speak...
Because one thing's for sure, this story can't continue like this, the loss we are currently turning each week is simply to big to be able to keep up...if staying in second division....
