We accomplished it!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were crowned champion of III.13.
In the final game against Speedo, there was no doubt who was the strongest!!!
Now we face a big new challenge in II.1.
Close to the elite level of the Netherlands, our young team has something to prove.
To enhance our chances some new players have arrived.
Thomas Soto a 25 year old USA player has come to strengthen our inside power.
Also we drafted three promising rookies.
Jimi Steen, a shooting guard who belongs to the most talented of this years rookies. We will bring him slowly, but we believe that sooner than later he will start games for us.
Redbad Goedhart a star center at college, but we believe he will more be a forward at the Pro's.
Otto Boterhoek was our third round pick. Not a big star as the other two, but still a very usable player.
Due to the new players on our team, we have to say goodbye to a few.
Johan Norlind, will be gone, we thank Johan his contributions and we believe he can become the leading center on another team.
Eduard Adriaanse joined us 3 seasons ago, while we were still in league IV.3. there he was one of the better players. Last year he had difficulties to get to the desired level of play. So we believe it is in both our interest to say goodbye to each other. Eduard you are a great person and a fine player, we hope that some league III or IV team will hire you.
The last one that is looking for a new home is Jozef de Houtman. Last year a rookie, he showed flashes of brilliance. But by drafting Jimi, it became clear that Jozef would be our sixth option on the wings. So his playing time will be very limited. That's why he asked to be at on the transfer list. We think it is better to help a player find a place where he is happy than to keep him disgruntled.
Jozef you are talented and we hope that you find your way in the league. And promise us one thing, next time you play us, don't shoot 40 or more points.
So people you see, we are very busy for the new seasons that starts saterday. We hope that we may see many of you, when we face de Vette Nijlpaarden. In season 10 they were champions of the Netherlands. So it will be a tough opponent for us. But with your support who knows what may happen......
