67 season, together with my 4th season as a Kazakhstan U21 coach, is underway. Just 3 seasons ago I took over a 90 ranked team, who had a rough Asian tournament but showed where the team needs to improve. With great help of managers who trained Kazakh youngsters, in my first consolation tourney, we took 3 wins and were competitive in every single game, that was a good learning experience for me as a coach because there were few mistakes and lapses that may have costed us crucial wins. We live and learn :) But the team and world ranking kept improving and we started s66 and Asian tournament in 69th place. Unfortunately again we were super short of qualifying to 2nd round due to losing the last game by 5 points and bad point difference. But with good core and racked up friendly wins, Kazakhstan is 55th! The new squad is super fresh and yet to reach their peak, so s66 consolation tournament will be difficult but there will be good opportunities to get some wins. The most important thing ...
