When we get our 3 draftees each season, they have names.

Why not assign those names earlier when the actual draft lists are released. For some of the more active divisions, the names of 5/5 prospects might create a bit of buzz and discussion. I mean, the NBA draft isn't a blind draft with their skills listed minus their names...

We know who they are and, like Cooper Flagg, we are talking about them long before they are actually drafted by a team. Surely it wouldn't be that hard to do the same in BB.

...so why not assign the names earlier so that managers become familiar with, or discuss with others, upcoming stars of the draft?

Just a suggestion...

I would think that it is intentional, so that different managers from the same league can't "cooperate" when scouting the draftees. As the numbering of the players is randomized for all managers, creating a similar system with the draftees having characteristic features such as names is probably not that easy. Maybe it could be implemented, when a draftee has been at least "scouted" and "interviewed", so a manager has spent at least 3 scouting points on them?

Similar question would be with the revelation of nationalities for the Utopia draftees during the scouting phase.

Yeah, I get that...however, are there enough managers who would actually use that team-approach to make that a genuine reason not to include names? I don't know.

Mind you, it's also nice to get the names when the draftees arrive in the team too.

Just thinking out loud.

@ regarding the Nationalities...surely that is something that can be done without too much of a problem.

Sure, there definitely are. And I absolutely support the idea. Also, as you have name-based achievements in BB, it would be nice to know the draftee names to acquire these without having to use the transfer list. Would help out HG teams a little.

I think the nationality information would also be highly useful, when one is interested in training U21 players and you want to, for example, prioritize the nationality over another feature, just to get a solid player from a micronation, who is more likely to appear in the U21 NT than one good draftee from one of the nations with more users.

100% agree. Earlier this season, before I made the decision to turn my 2nd team, Westopian Tigers, into a HG team (for next season), I had 2 trainees from smaller nations who I had trained onto their U21 teams. I sold both only because I made the decision to turn HG. My point is, getting players onto the smaller nations' U21 NT is a little easier and has great benefits (merch) for HG teams like ours.

One of those players was a Bolivian player: (53919405)

I think we need to carefully consider the situation in the four merged countries (nation of XXX).
