Hello All, here is the NEW schedule along with the linked team pages for easy PU Match invites. BEST OF LUCK YALL!! :-)

Home-Grown League (HGL) Schedule:
Season 1
[....]

Thank you T-Lit for sending a schedule created by MrJ here as well, and adding functionality in form of team links.

Like I mentioned in forum earlier today what I will do, I copy-pasted this schedule sent by you to the 'official league schedule'-post (post 1 of 2) here: (326590.5) , and following your good practice/idea added team links to the 'official participating teams'-post, which is found here: (326590.2). I take it that you didn't edit it anyway when copying it from MrJ's forum post, or then we might have a catastrophe in our hands at the end of the season now that I copied it to the official post... ;D

So now managers can use either of us posts when arranging regular season matches, but please do not start arranging those yet, as we first want to decide whether we'll apply a principles of:
A) regards to sending Pickup game challenges, adding a principle of 8 challenger teams (who use 15 tokens) and 8 accepting managers (who use 0 tokens for regular season match challenges)
B) fixed times for matches: either fixed time for all matches, or fixed times based on teams who play against each other

(There are for instance some matches where both teams are from Americas, in which case certain time could be used, matches between European teams could start at certain time, etc., but still it would more simple to stick with certain locked time as then matchups would needed to go through and evaluated "by hand", 1 by 1, and done for each and every season separately).

Yes, MAJOR props to Mr. J for creating the schedule, all I did was copy his, then add the hyper links for ease of use. Major major kudos to Mr. J for sure!

I think we can all agree that this is coming together because of a team effort rather than individuals doing everything. We are certainly beginning to form our HG community. Look how quickly managers responded, putting up their hands to offer up their PU tokens and arrange games. We got 8 teams very quickly.

The future looks bright for the HGL.

I'm very, very glad to see people coming together with willingness to help, responding messages more actively, and see people sharing some of the excitement that for instance I have for HGL. It makes the work worthwhile. I feel as though launching of HGL has already gotten many of us so much more active on the forums and looking forward to what future of HGL brings to each team individually, but especially to us as a community.

And one of the goals of this whole league, has been (and of course still is) to make HG community even more active/communicative, and make managers feel more committed to their HG projects and to the whole community.
Like you mentioned, that's when great things start to happen, and this example of 8 (that you mentioned) was a good example of it.

I totally agree that future looks bright for HGL! I don't want to go too much ahead of things, but let's just put it this way; I really hope to see as many as possible of you other 15 initial participants to participate for the Season 5 (and beyond) of HGL. All time winning stats and medal tables (and possibly some other stats of that sort) will be calculated throughout the seasons, so two things; make every game count, and please have a lot of fun doing so!

Once again warmly welcome to all participants on my behalf! :)

Tips are appreciated if you guys are more experienced with these league table/formatting/BB text editor issues, as I hope we don't have to live with these kind of messy tables for too long... I tried to resolve this issue with team abbreviations on the league table (as with the full names it looked absolutely ridiculous), but this certainly isn't ideal either.

Could a google sheets work better for you, that way you just input the information, share the google sheet link and we can see it live, vs having to redo the table each time?

Just a thought. :-)

Thanks for a suggestion, I'll keep it in mind. :)
I don't have to redo the table from the ground up each time though, as it is automatically sorted/arranged after I input the data (wins, losses, possible forfeits etc.), so I just need to copy that new table to that post, and possibly add formatting, such as lines below 4th and 12th team. This doesn't of course solve the ugly formatting issue. Like I mentioned, if anyone who visits this have some ideas to give me how to make better use of this BB text editor when making league tables, I'd appreciate any advice.

I of course wish all scores would be automatically transferred from box scores to league tables, and that tables would update themselves immediately, but that's just a daydream (and likely will be that in the future as well!) as this kind of PU league always demands some amount of manual work.. Making things easier is always a good goal, but let's see if I want to add another platform/service provider, such as google, to this mix.

One of the ways to make league table look less messy could/would be to remove point aggregate from the official table, as it's not really used (or if it is, it is not the first decisive term) for ranking teams anyway.

But your idea actually reminded me of my previous idea/vision, that it would be really cool to have an own website for HGL in the future! In there we wouldn't have to settle for dealing with all these forum posts, and it would be so much easier to organize in a clear manner - not to mention that it would enable freedom in terms of webpage structures and visual look. But let's start by getting HGL running in the first place (arranging all the regular season matches etc.), and deal with webpages and other possible development ideas later... :)
