Could a google sheets work better for you, that way you just input the information, share the google sheet link and we can see it live, vs having to redo the table each time?
Just a thought. :-)
Thanks for a suggestion, I'll keep it in mind. :)
I don't have to redo the table from the ground up each time though, as it is automatically sorted/arranged after I input the data (wins, losses, possible forfeits etc.), so I just need to copy that new table to that post, and possibly add formatting, such as lines below 4th and 12th team. This doesn't of course solve the ugly formatting issue. Like I mentioned, if anyone who visits this have some ideas to give me how to make better use of this BB text editor when making league tables, I'd appreciate any advice.
I of course wish all scores would be automatically transferred from box scores to league tables, and that tables would update themselves immediately, but that's just a daydream (and likely will be that in the future as well!) as this kind of PU league always demands some amount of manual work.. Making things easier is always a good goal, but let's see if I want to add another platform/service provider, such as google, to this mix.
One of the ways to make league table look less messy could/would be to remove point aggregate from the official table, as it's not really used (or if it is, it is not the first decisive term) for ranking teams anyway.
But your idea actually reminded me of my previous idea/vision, that it would be really cool to have an own website for HGL in the future! In there we wouldn't have to settle for dealing with all these forum posts, and it would be so much easier to organize in a clear manner - not to mention that it would enable freedom in terms of webpage structures and visual look. But let's start by getting HGL running in the first place (arranging all the regular season matches etc.), and deal with webpages and other possible development ideas later... :)
