NZ grabs 3rd win

Last night New Zealand U21 managed to gets its 3rd win in the Asian qualifiers and all but guarantee themselves a spot in the second round.
South Korea has been the bunny team in Pool C this year, but that didn't stop them from coming hard at the 88th ranked Kiwis. The first half was close, however 20yo power forward Chuck Knight led the way for NZ with 14 points on 7 of 7 shooting. It was always thought that the way to beating South Korea was through using the paint, and Chuck is New Zealand’s main man for that task. He kept up the hard fight down low over the next quarter and at half time he had 20 points on a still perfect 10 from 10 shooting. By this time SG Vincent Arkless (who was added to the starting lineup about 3 hours before the game) was also starting to repay the faith the coaches had shown in him with 11 points and 6 dimes. The 6 point half time lead wasn't much of a cushion though so more work was needed. When Chuck started to slow down, Vincent picked up the slack, and with a bit of help from center Amar Byahatti he was able to push the lead to 11 to start the 4th. A Brody Macdonald drive with 50 seconds left was the final nail in the coffin for Korea as Vincent finished out the game with some free throws.
With 2 rounds left of qualifiers, NZ has almost locked up a spot in the next round. Assuming 13th ranked Hong Kong beats Malaysia, and 8th ranked Philippines beat Japan, then the worst the Kiwis could end up is 4th. Likewise if New Zealand can beat Thailand next week then they will qualify anyway.
